AngloInfo is a wonderful site for finding babysitting or tutoring jobs or apartments, as well as for finding English-speaking places where you’re located- I used it to find a church!

I know a lot of people have found apartments using AngloInfo (above) or Appartager.

Want to teach private English lessons?  Consider posting announcements on these sites: KelProf  Cherche-Cours  Le Bon Coin  French Craigslist.  Here is my post about my experience teaching private lessons here.

    Hi Kelsey,

I’ve been accepted to the 2016-17 program in l’académie de Nice. Your blog was definitely helpful and hopefully we can get in touch more!

    • Congratulations Chantal!! That’s awesome! I’m glad the blog has been helpful and feel free to comment/email with any questions!

  2. I’m going to be in Oyonnax, near Lyon for 2015-2016 and am devouring all TAPIF related blogs!

    • Congratulations! I did the same thing but found information kind of lacking, which is why I started my blog 🙂

This is great! I was just accepted to the program in l’académie d’Orléans-Tours! I’ve been to Paris twice to study abroad and am quite familiar with certain “differences” between the way things work there vs. in the US, but both times I was there only for six weeks so I was technically on a “tourist visa.” Your blog has been a great source of first-hand information for us newly accepted assistance since there are definitely a tremendous amount of supplemental processes needed when you’re there working for so long!

    • Ahh congrats on being accepted! I’m glad it’s helpful. Feel free to ask any questions you have, or suggest any ideas for future blog posts that would help you and other future assistants!

Thanks! I’m sure I will have a million question as time goes on and I slowly find out more information. I guess one question I have is if TAPIF Assistants can benefit from things like the SNCF Carte Jeune and things like that… budgeting and travel will be an important aspects (a blog post about how you budget/live on the assistant’s salary or plan trips would be cool to see perhaps)!
