WHOA it’s been forever since I’ve been on the blog. Time to get back into the swing of things. I am currently working on a post about my trip to Prague–I swear I am–but in the meantime, a short little post!
First of all, current assistants who read here, how’s it going?? If I remember correctly you’re probably about in the middle of your two week break right now. Did you all find a place to live? How’s school going? Are you traveling right now?
Secondly, a quick update on my life. Since I returned from France I interviewed at three different schools, applied at three different temp agencies, got a teaching job AND a temp summer job, moved out of my parents’ house into my own rental house, and started working full time teaching English, French, and ESL at a local high school! I’m loving it. At some point I might do a photo recap of my summer, but who knows if I’ll ever get to that point.
I knew it had been awhile since I posted, but I just looked and it’s been since April 25- yikes! Over a month! I haven’t forgotten about the blog but there just hasn’t been a lot of updating to do about the whole France situation. There have been a lot of changes in my life lately though, so here goes a quick update!
My official last day of student teaching was April 26, although I went back the following Monday for a goodbye party with my freshmen. Leaving all my students was so bittersweet, although I did allow them to add me on Facebook if they so desired (nearly all my personal information is blocked from them, and I haven’t regretted it so far). I just wanted them to be able to stay in touch with me if they wanted to.
I had about a week in Blono to chill and relax, and then I moved out of my apartment the following weekend. It was so sad to say goodbye to my first real apartment and my roommate! I then drove to my parents’ house in Illinois City, where I unpacked and started to try to organize my room (fitting an entire apartment into one room is not good) for a couple of days before driving back to Bloomington to celebrate graduation with my friends, participate in the ceremony, and spend time with my family that came down to visit.
